Roll Up!
A downloadable TTRPG system
A system for creating and running tabletop roleplaying games for group or solo play.
All you need to play is a six-sided die (d6) to go along with the procedures and tables in this guide.
~~ Pocket book available in soft cover at cost price ~~
Roll Up! is a tabletop roleplaying game system designed to allow people to dive into a world of adventure with minimal fuss. Rolling up a new character, setting up a world, and starting an adventure takes just a few d6 rolls and can be done in less than a minute.
The system is a simple and versatile, allowing you to create tabletop roleplaying games that can be used for group games or solo games, including games with a GM and those without.
Gameplay is equally direct - decide what you’re doing and let the six sides of the die help you along your way. With extensive tables and randomness, Roll Up! games are designed to be endlessly replayable.
The primary features of the Roll Up! system are:
- Games can get started in a minute or less
- Only one die is needed - a d6
- Characters have three stats that double as abilities and an HP pool (when any one of them is reduced to zero, the character dies)
- Works seamlessly for group or solo games with no modifications to the core rules
- GM is optional, depending on how you want to play
- Loads of customisation options
- A high level of replayability
You can also use Roll Up! as a system reference document (SRD) to create your own games. You can copy the text from this guide and use it in your own work, building out a world for players in any setting you choose.
This booklet includes:
- Easy guides for creating characters and playing the game
- A quick start guide with the core mechanics on one page
- Simple rules needing nothing more than a d6 to set up and play
- 10 creative tables for generating all kinds of stories and adventures
- Player and NPC character sheets
- A scripted example of play
- Toolkit on how to use the system to create your own games
The downloads are available in A6 and pocket book sizes (in singles and spreads), along with a plain text PDF. Character sheets, plain and form-fillable, compatibility logos, and Canva templates are also available.

- d66 Adjectives
- d66 Verbs

Am I missing something? If you roll really well.... Say Fists 5 Brains 6 Feet 6, that means... a negative number of Bonuses? 16-17=-1
I mean, sure, there's only a approximately 2% chance of getting a 17 or higher (or almost a 5% chance to get a 16+), but that means the more people playing Roll Up, the more likely it's going to happen.
That’s true! I play with Bonus having a minimum of 1 (even with high stats, having at least 1 Bonus is useful). I realise that haven’t added that to this guide, so I’ll update it to include that. Thanks for highlighting it!
Okay cool, I was literally thinking just adding "(min 1)" would fix it!
In my Roll-Up game Pen 13 Club, I want PCs to have extra Wooj (Bonus) to fuel the magic system, so I just made it could never be negative.
I have updated the downloads to include this! Thanks for pointing it out :)
