This is a Mausritter adventure written by Noah Lashbrooke, my eight-year-old son. It's his own concept and work with minimal input from me. The adventure is available as pay-what-you-want, and any money earned from it goes directly to Noah.

The crabs are controlling the rats! They're using the rats to gather treasure from the beach for their stash, and using the Crown of Control to keep them in line. The boss crab is using his growth formula to stay in charge, but he won't last long without it.

This adventure features:

  • Original artwork
  • 2 connected locations
  • 6 new items with hand-drawn item cards
  • 5 new creatures
  • A4 trifold for easy home printing
  • Printable maps

Great to see 10 Acres expanding! I love the concept and the presentation is straightforward and easy to run immediately. It will fit well on the island settings in my campaign and provides some interesting hooks for further exploration (Spoiler: how did the crabs get a computer?!? Scary thought). Thanks!

Fascinating quest, I'm curious about the nature of the beach rats. Are they part of a lost ship rat crew fallen into the evil machinations of the crabby crabs and their crown of control? Maybe they are controlled because ship rats would be good at finding and digging up treasure. Those crabs definitely have a sophisticated operation down there in the crabby lair, or it could have originally been the rat's treasure stash now taken over as the crabby crab king lair! This could easily be turned into a campaign or have further scenario modules. I would love to see some magical item info and an item card for this crown of control. I know my players will be dying to use it on my virtual tabletop for better or worse. Probably worse knowing them! Where did the crabs get such a crown and how much do they want it back? I can also imagine the rats, even though they were beat up, would be grateful to be freed of the crazy crafty crabby crab's cornering con and crown control! By the way I love that snail with his slow ram. Maybe unlike all the other enemies, he never sleeps so he constantly follows the party and will eventually catch up to them and then RAM! That would be terrifying if encountered in a dungeon, a continuous threat when you least expect it or at the worst possible moment he's there!

Fine work on the creature stat blocks and the minimal yet dense layout Mausritter is known for. The artwork is great and the the maps are very helpful. Five Stars! I can't wait to see what else comes from the imaginative mind of Noah in the next zine!

Love this! The answer to all the questions is "yes" :D The backstory of the rats being shipwrecked on the beach is excellent - adds some good story to the whole thing.

The slow ram of the snail is great - I love the idea of it just slowly pursuing you until it finally catches up when you least expect it.

Thanks for the great and super encouraging feedback!
